A Welcoming Neighborhood

Join our Neighborhood Calling Post!:

We are trying to get in touch with you! Our neighborhood association has a “calling post” tool that allows you to add your phone number to a list and receive important messages from the association regarding meeting changes, reminders or even neighborhood information or emergencies.

This tool is used sparingly and can only be accessed by certain officers of the association. In 2009 we only sent out about seven calling posts for the year. We encourage you to allow us to add your phone number to this list so that you may receive updates and information.

To do so, please
email the Meadow Lark Estates Neighborhood Association secretary at Secretary@meadow-lark.com and ask to have your phone number included on the calling post listing. Include your name, address and the phone number you want to add. Then, the next time that a calling post is sent out, you will receive it, even if your voice mail or message recorder picks up!

Iron Sky video surveillance system goes live in College Park

College Park, GA – Within the first 12 hours of using a street-level video surveillance system from Iron Sky, the city of College Park made three arrests last week based on camera footage. The Iron Sky system utilizes IP-based surveillance cameras and a wireless mesh network so that law enforcement officials can view high-definition footage from any computer on the city’s LAN/WAN. A graphics-driven interface using Google maps facilitates a faster, more informed response to emergencies by the College Park police department.

Video surveillance cameras were installed at Main Street, Old National Highway, and Camp Creek Parkway by the College Park Power Company. Use of the cameras helps law
enforcement officials manage resources and deploy officers strategically to address issues.

“This system gives us high-definition video footage that makes it easier for officers to get the job done,” said College Park Interim Police Chief Ron Fears.

Iron Sky has distinguished itself in the security market by providing “Better Tools to Fight Crime,” including IP-based cameras and a non-proprietary design that can be customized to address the needs of each client. By selecting Iron Sky surveillance tools, existing College Park cameras will integrate seamlessly with new equipment and provide a scalable platform for the future.

“The College Park surveillance project is off to a great start,” said Keith Drummond, Iron Sky President and CEO. “We are looking forward to working very closely with College Park
Public Safety as their technology partner to ensure they are able to meet each challenge along the way.”

Highly adaptable Iron Sky technology also allows College Park — home to Hartsfield-Jackson International, the world’s busiest airport — to incorporate an unlimited number of locations throughout the city. Future plans include surveillance cameras at the Georgia International Convention Center and other high-traffic areas.

“The enthusiasm on this project has been tremendous. I am very encouraged by the unique applications College Park plans to implement in the coming months,” said Iron Sky
General Manager Bob Carter. “This is a great fit between Iron Sky’s resources and College Park’s vision for the future.”

The Iron Sky system allows law enforcement and emergency responders to observe building floor plans and street maps, making more informed decisions during emergencies. Iron Sky also integrates other applications and information sources, such as license plate recognition and gunshot detection software in one, graphics-driven interface.
